Freckle has recently launched the website for the Golden Pride Childrens Choir.The Golden Pride Childrens Choir is a group of 42 children from a remote village in Tanzania, East Africa. Their voices have taken them from their village to an international stage in London. In 2003 the choir produced their first CD, Mapambano.
They performed at the 2004 WOMAD Festival of World Music in the UK. The trip was funded solely on donations. They have now been invited to Australia in March 2006, to perform at Womadelaide and the cultural festival for the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.
The story of the choir is to be broadcast on Channel 7's True Stories program on Tuesday the 30th of August at 7:30pm. Be sure to not to miss it.
